HE SAID IT… PAUL MCMAHAN ON THE TEAM’S TOP-10 FINISH AT RIVERSIDE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY:
“Racing at Riverside was really a lot of fun. It reminded me of Silver Dollar Speedway and Petaluma Speedway in California, a couple of tracks I grew up racing on. It was a short, little bullring that was rough and tacky. It was right up my alley. We qualified decently, but the car wasn’t really comfortable. Jimmy (Carr, crew chief) and the team worked to make changes on the car all night. They changed it in between qualifying and the heat race, and it continued to improve each time we hit the track. By the time we got to the feature, the car was good. We were going for our first podium finish of the year when a lapped car moved in front of me and we lost a couple of spots. I was able to drive forward again near the finish and we ended up with a solid fourth place run. I really have to give the guys a lot of credit. They worked really hard all night to give the Bass Pro Shops/Chevrolet car one of our best runs of the season.â€
