Another great Bristol Race. I really liked that there were only 8 cautions as opposed to the normal 18-20.
Spin Cycle: 3 of the 8 cautions were for David Ragan spinning out all by himself. After the 3rd spin they packed up and went home.
They call him Flipper: Carl Edwards drove a great race and picked up his 6th career Nextel Cup victory. In the process he locked himself into the chase and got the first Car of Tomorrow win for Ford.
Tony’s Number Two: After battling a loose car all weekend Tony Stewart finally got the changes he needed and drove to a 4th place finish. Tony is locked into the chase and moves to 2nd in the current standings.
You Funny Guy: ESPN did its normal crappy lousy job of announcing. The best line of the night came from Rusty Wallace. Robby Gordon spun out after hitting Matt Kenseth and Rusty claimed that”Everyone knows that Robby is one of the best drivers out there.” I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.
Happy Birthday Old Guy: Happy Birthday and Good Luck wishes to James Hylton who will turn 73 on Sunday. Hylton has 2 Cup wins, at Riverside and Talladega. Hylton will be racing the No. 67 FreeFeds.org/Happy Birthday James Hylton Dodge Charger in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Governor’s Cup 200 at the famed Milwaukee Mile. Hylton ran his first Grand National race in 1964. You can catch the race on SPEED at 1:00 Sunday.
