The Week Ahead: Tri-City Speedway & Paducah International Raceway
A look at this weekends action in the World of Outlaws
WHAT
• The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series schedule begins to pick up steam this week with a pair of events, beginning at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois on Friday, May 9, followed by a visit to Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday, May 10. This will be the series first visit this season to 3/8-mile tracks. Last season, 10 different drivers won in 20 events on tracks that size, led by two-time defending series champion Donny Schatz, who had five wins. Danny Lasoski, the 2001 World of Outlaws champion won at both Tri-City Speedway and Paducah International Raceway. This season, four drivers have picked up wins in the first seven events of the season, led by Jason Meyers who has three wins and current championship point leader Craig Dollansky who has two triumphs.
WHEN
• On Friday, May 9 at Tri-City Speedway, the Pit Gates will open 2:00 p.m. Central, while the Grandstand Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Central and Hot Laps are tentatively set for 6:30 p.m. Central.
• On Saturday, May 10, at Paducah International Raceway the Pit Gates will open 3:00 p.m. Central, while the Grandstand Gates will also open at 3:00 p.m. Central and time trials are tentatively set for 6:00 p.m. Central.
WHERE
• Tri-City Speedway is located in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. Take I-270 to exit 4, then travel ½-mile south on SR 203, then head east.
• Paducah International Raceway is located in Paducah, Kentucky. Take I-24 to exit 11, then go 0.4 miles south on Husband Road (SR 1954), then head 1.9 miles east on Lyndon Road (SR 3075). Then travel 1.3 miles south on Oaks (SR 450), and then 0.9 miles west on Shemwell Lane (near airport).
TICKETS
• On Friday, May 9 at Tri-City Speedway, Reserved tickets in the Top-Five rows will be $32, with General Admission tickets $30. Children 12-under will be admitted free to the general admission seating area with a paying adult. For tickets call 1-800-617-9077.
• On Saturday, May 10 at Paducah International Raceway, adult grandstand tickets will be $30, with tickets for children 12-under just $5. Reserved seats are available by calling (270) 898-7469 during regular business hours.
