The Three Worst Kept Secrets in NASCAR this Season
Without a question or a doubt, here are the 3 worst kept secrets in NASCAR this season
Worst kept secret #1: Tony Stewart Leaving Joe Gibbs Racing to become part owner of Haas CNC, to be renamed Stewart-Haas Racing. It seems like a week after he announced that he was considering offers from other teams, everyone had him at Haas CNC Racing. Even those of us who couldn’t understand why he would leave for such a mediocre team were beginning to believe it.
Worst kept secret #2: 2008 Daytona 500 winner, and fellow Hoosier, Ryan Newman was leaving the grandeur of historic Penske Racing to sign on with some new outfit called Stewart-Haas Racing. While they may struggle early, I look for the Rocketman and Smoke to put up some good numbers for years to come.
And that brings us to our third and final worst kept secret of the season.
Worst kept secret #3: Journeyman racer and test car driver David Stremme taking over the #12 car at Roger Penske racing. Most everyone had the former Chip Ganassi Cup driver and current Nationwide Series driver for Rusty Wallace in Newman’s old seat before Newman had even announced he was leaving. That’s what happens when people can’t keep secrets.
I’ve decided that if you want to keep something a secret, NEVER tell anybody involved in NASCAR about it. Those guys, and girls, can’t keep a secret worth a darn.r Stewart-Haas Racing next season.
