Thundebowl Raceway Wrap Up

World of Outlaws Sprint SeriesConcord, NC – Joey Saldana moved into the top spot in the World of Outlaws championship standings after his win on Saturday night. He currently leads Jason Meyers by seven points with Steve Kinser third- nine markers out, with Donny Schatz fourth and Jason Sides fifth. The weekend at Tulare opened with Kinser leading Schatz by two points, with Saldana third- 12 points out and Meyers fourth- 16 markers back. After the opener at Tulare, Kinser and Schatz were tied for the point lead with Saldana third, just three points out and Meyers fourth, only six markers behind. Bad Break Ends Schatz’s Weekend in California

World of Outlaws Sprint SeriesTULARE, CA – Donny Schatz knew his weekend visit to Thunderbowl Raceway in central California wasn’t going to be easy. The defending World of Outlaws champion battled his way to fourth on Friday night, but on Saturday night, he wasn’t as fortunate. Joey Saldana Scores First Win of 2010 at Thunderbowl Raceway

Tulare, CA – For many drivers, picking up the first win of a new season is one of the toughest feats to accomplish in racing. After being victorious 21 times overall last season with the World of Outlaws, Joey Saldana certainly knew the way to the winner s circle heading into 2010. Kinser and Schatz Tied for Lead as Meyers Takes The Win At Home

Tulare, CA – Jason Meyers had been trying to win a World of Outlaws race at his home track of Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare since 2003. He came close on a couple of occasions, leading laps and being in contention, though never was quite able to make it to Victory Lane with the series at the high-banked 1/3-mile bullring. The native of nearby Clovis changed all of that on Friday night, as he won an exciting race over Joey Saldana to score the $10,000 triumph.
