DuQuoin, IL – Kody Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. tood advantage of a relatively new USAC Silver Crown rule and ended up winning the “Ted Horn 100” at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds Sunday night in his Toyota/Team Six-R Beast. The win was his first in series competition as he led the final 49 miles of the race after a mid-race stop.

One year after getting completely washed out by Mother Nature the Ted Horn 100 USAC Silver Crown Championship Series race returns to light up the night at the 88th DuQuoin State Fair on Sunday, September 5. A large number of USAC’s top stars are expected for the 100-mile grind which began in 1949 and has been held annually except when rained out in 1950, 1962 and 2009.

The “Ted Horn 100” is next up for the USAC Silver Crown Championship Series, scheduled for Sunday night, September 5 at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds. The 1946-47-48 AAA National Driving Champion (Horn) lost his life in an accident at DuQuoin in 1948 and has been memorialized with the 100-mile race at the Magic Mile nearly every year since.

DuQuoin, IL – Heavy rains in southern Illinois forced cancellation of Sunday’s “Ted Horn 100″ USAC K & N Silver Crown Championship race at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds. Todays ARCA Stock Car race at DuQuoin remains on the schedule as planned. Officials of USAC and Track Enterprises are exploring alternate dates and will announce a reschedule of the “Ted Horn 100″
