Winchester, IN – Shane Hmiel of Pleasant Garden, N.C. is the top point scorer in USAC Sprint pavement racing for 2010. Sunday afternoon he led the final 30 laps to win the 40-lap “Rich Vogler Classic” at Winchester Speedway on “Winchester Oldtimers Weekend.”
Hmiel passed Levi Jones on the 11th lap and led the rest of the way in his Rotondo Weirich/Benic Enterprises Beast/ITI Performance special to beat Damion Gardner, fast qualifier Tracy Hines, AMSOIL National series point leader Jones and Bobby East.

Rich Vogler won a record 171 USAC races during his meteoric career and his memory will be honored again Sunday when the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series returns to the Winchester (Ind.) Speedway for the track’s “Oldtimers Weekend.” Vogler won 10 times in USAC competition at Winchester, five times in the Midgets and five in the Sprints.

Winchester, IN – Tracy Hines of New Castle, Ind. captured Thursday night’s 40-lap “Rich Vogler Classic” as USAC returned to “Thursday Night Thunder” at the Winchester Speedway. Hines was the fastest qualifier for the USAC National Sprint race and trailed Cole Whitt until the 37th lap when he made the winning pass in turn three.
