Concord, NC – The crew at Dodge City Raceway Park along with World of Outlaws Officials worked very hard on Sunday to ensure that a full racing program would be completed for the very large crowd that stayed an extra day in Dodge City to see the finale of the Boot Hill Showdown. Ed Beckley, the promoter at the track, who was the 2009 World of Outlaws Promoter of the Year, worked the surface into shape after heavy rains throughout the night on Saturday that lasted well into Sunday morning, to provide a very racy track that saw Joey Saldana and Jason Meyers trade the lead three times.

Dodge City, KS – Joey Saldana felt like a win slipped away from him on Friday night at Dodge City Raceway Park as he led most of the race before finishing second to Sammy Swindell. He did his best to make up for that on Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Boot Hill Showdown Presented by Boot Hill Casino & Resort, which had been postponed by rain on Saturday night, scoring his fifth win of the season and the fifth of his career at the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile over Jason Meyers before a very large crowd.

With The Dream on tap at Eldora Speedway, the Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park awaiting the World of Outlaws and the USAC Sprints visiting Johnny Benson’s Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan it looked to be an exciting evening of racing for the teams of Tony Stewart Racing. Dodge City, KS – Sammy Swindell remembers his first trip to Dodge City Raceway Park in 2004 very vividly. After crossing the line first, he came up two pounds light at the scales after running out of the fuel, thus snatching the victory away from him. He returned to the track for the first time since then last year, picking up a couple of Top-10 finishes as he continued his quest to pick up that elusive win at Dodge City. He was finally able to score that victory on Friday night in thrilling fashion over Joey Saldana before a very larger crowd as Boot Hill Casino & Resort Presented the opener of the Boot Hill Showdown.

It’s Dream weekend at Eldora Speedway and track owner Tony Stewart hopped a flight from the 2 mile Michigan International Speedway to Rossburg after qualifying 17th for Sunday’s race. Also making the trip, although a little later, was Tony Stewart Racing sponsored Josh Richards.
