Silly Season Continues

Jeremy Mayfield will not return to Bill Davis Racing next season, the team said Wednesday. I wonder why.
I’m guessing it’s because of his abysmal record this year, among other things.
8 starts out of 21 races, best starting position 13th, best finish 23rd, 4 laps led. Must be the fact that he’s in a Toyota.
But wait, his teammate Dave Blaney is in a Toyota and he’s qualifed for 19 races, including 1 pole (Loudon) 1 Top 10, 35 laps led and 7 DNF’s.
At 38 years old, Jeremy needs to take his 5 career wins, and his attitude and go find a new career. He won’t be missed.
