HE SAID IT…

RICKY STENHOUSE ON FINISHING THIRD IN THE STAN FOX CLASSIC EVENT AT THE PLYMOUTH DIRT TRACK:

“We thought the track was going to be pretty good for the night, and it was during hot laps. We qualified sixth and after talking about the set-up, we figured out we probably had the wrong gear in the car for qualifying. With the invert taking eight for the feature, we started third and stayed near the front at the start of the race. I overdrove the car a little bit while trying to chase Levi (Jones, teammate) down and he pulled away from us. When we got into lapped traffic, Levi got around the first car pretty quickly and it messed me up a little bit. When we got to the next lapped car, I got hit in the left rear and Danny Stratton passed me for second. We were both running Levi down at the end but I overdrove the car and we ended up third. The Chevrolet engines are really running well right now. We’ve worked on them to improve the pick-up and they’re really moving on the starts now. I’m ready to head to Anderson this week to see if the same will hold true on the pavement.”
