HE SAID IT…

RICKY STENHOUSE, JR. ON THE CHALLENGES THAT THE NO. 21 TSR/CHEVROLET/MAXIM TEAM FACED AT THE TERRE HAUTE ACTION TRACK:

“The track was definitely a major player in the night’s racing, but we just tried to set up our car around it to do the best we could. It was really dusty in the heat race. Dirt was getting under my visor and into my eyes. It was pretty hard to see, especially in the corners. When it came time for the feature, we knew that we were going to have our hands full. The car could’ve have been a little bit better but it wasn’t too bad considering what we had to work with in terms of the track. With 22 laps to go, I felt something go away on the car. I wasn’t sure what it was but I know that I had to really fight it. It almost turned over a couple of times. The left rear didn’t want to stay down. When we finished the race and I got back into the pits, we figured out that the left rear shock had broken. All in all, I was pretty happy to finish in the top-five. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get back into victory lane for Chevrolet and Bass Pro Shops this week. We’re going to have four really good chances to do so. ”

STENHOUSE, JR., REGARDING THE TEAM’S TOP QUALIFYING EFFORT:

“When I came in from qualifying, I really didn’t think that I’d had a good lap. I was actually kind of mad as I headed back to the pits. But when I came in and got out of the car, the guys were all really happy. After I saw my time I realized that we did do pretty well. It was pretty cool to get quick time, especially at a place like Terre Haute. ”
