HE SAID IT…

PAUL MCMAHAN ON THE CHALLENGES SKAGIT SPEEDWAY PRESENTED:

“It’s been almost 10 years since I ran at Skagit Speedway and one thing is for certain; it’s definitely not the track I remember. On Friday, I drew a late number for qualifying and we didn’t fare so well. We had a decent heat race and were able to get out of it and into the A-main. At the start of the A-main, I was fortunate to get a good jump and we were able to pass several cars right at the start. The track surface is really different, it’s smooth but it doesn’t allow for a lot of passing. On Saturday, we were off a little bit in qualifying and again there wasn’t much passing. We made it to the A-main and I just focused on staying out of trouble and picking up as many spots as I could. Even after all of the rain we had on Saturday the track went dusty in the feature. It would have been good to get a top-five or top-10 finish for Bass Pro Shops and Chevrolet, we got close but we just missed it. We’ll take what we learned and move our focus to this week.”
