HE SAID IT…
PAUL MCMAHAN ON THE NO. 20 TEAM’S BATTLE AGAINST LUCK AT THE THUNDERBOWL RACEWAY:
“We were just extremely tight in the A-main event. I spent more time on two wheels than I did on four for most of the race. The track was really heavy and sticky and we’re not used to running on those types of tracks. After we broke the rear end in the heat race, we tried to hang some weight on the car before the B-main but the bolts wouldn’t stay tight so we ended up not putting the extra weight on the car. We didn’t have a three-off wheel. We usually run a six or seven-off wheel, and we couldn’t get the wheel to hang out far enough in the feature. We’re heading back to familiar territory this weekend. We’ve had some better luck in Arizona in the past. We’ll regroup and try to put Bass Pro Shops and Chevrolet in winner’s circle again this weekend.”
