HE SAID IT…

PAUL MCMAHAN ON THE TEAM’S SOLID RUNS AT ARP AND TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY:

“Whatever we’re doing is working. The guys gave me a great car this weekend; we were really fast both nights. I feel like we’re running as well as we did in the early part of last year. It’s really a confidence booster when you can go out and move forward at-will. I was really happy with the top-10 at Attica on Friday night; that is a hard place to go forward. At Haubstadt, we had a great run going but it didn’t end up the way we’d wanted it to. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the weekend. I think the hard work the guys have been putting in is really benefiting us and it’s coming across in our finishes.”

MCMAHAN ON TAKING THE LEAD OVER STEVE KINSER AND THE LATE-RACE INCIDENT AT TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY:

“I had a good run on him [Kinser] as we went into two on the restart. I got around him but I hit the cushion and it upset the car enough that he was able to get back by me. We were really good as the race went on, and had the pass stuck I don’t think he would have been able to get back around me. A few laps later, Tim Kaeding and I were racing hard, and he drove in on the top as we went into four. I tried to go underneath him and the result was that we got together. I don’t know that it could’ve have been avoided; we were just racing and both of us were trying to gain ground. I hate it that both of the Bass Pro Shop Chevrolets ended up finished outside of the top-five, which is how we probably would have finished. The Chevy engine was great all weekend and I think we’re a step closer to getting Bass Pro Shops a victory as we head into Knoxville this weekend.”
