Paul finished 25th in the A Main of the World of Outlaws Finals Saturday night. I missed the preliminary races and didn’t recall hearing his name mentioned at all in the telecast. Now I know why. Pauls team used a provisional to receive championship points, but McMahan did not compete in the A-Main due to a foot injury sustained in the second heat race that required transport to the hospital.
Apparently in WoO you don’t even have to start to get the points and prize money. Seems kind of strange. So what’s 25th pay? $700.

Speed TV really had me worried when they were reporting about the wreck, which did look horrific. They were talking about McMahan being taken to the hospital, but mentioned the drive shaft coming out, which you may remember killed a driver last year.
So, I was relieved when it was reported on Wind Tunmel that McMahan was treated and released. They showed the video on Wind Tunnel and the #20 car did actually hit the top of the fence. It was a very scary looking wreck.
Thanks for the additional info. While the stock car guys have an incredible amount of safety built into their cars, the WoO guys really put their lives on the line every week. And they do it for a lot less money.
I just found out it was a broken toe. I was afraid it was a broken foot.
Last weekend couldn’t have gotten worse for Paul. It was just bad timing to announce Kraig Kinser as the driver of the 20 next year as Paul is being hauled off in an ambulance.
On an ironic note, Paul is headed to Australia next week to drive Kerry Madsen’s car… the one that put him in the fence on Friday.
Hello fans of Paul mcmahan, I haven’t watched him yet because my friend (his son) hadn’t mentioned it at all.But from what racerX and revjim are saying, it sounds like he’s had some bad luck. Anyway best of luck to Paul his team and family.
ok one last thing, i didn’t see that the comments before mine were old so…..sorry about the hole ‘bad luck’ thing.:-)
