HE SAID IT…
LEVI JONES ON THE LAST-LAP PASS THAT EARNED HIM THE LAWRENCEBURG FEATURE EVENT VICTORY:
“What a last lap. I had a really good time racing Brady. I’m really looking forward to this sort of competition all year long. Jay (Drake) and the rest of the guys did a great job with the setup of the car.â€
“It’s great to be able to give Chevrolet their first ever USAC National Sprint Car Series feature event win. It’s also pretty cool to be able to add my name to the list of drivers who have won under the Tony Stewart Racing banner. I hope that we’re able to put many more marks in the win column this season.â€
JONES ON HIS EIGHTH PLACE RUN AT WINCHESTER SPEEDWAY:
“I didn’t kill the car and I didn’t kill myself, that’s the battle we were trying to win today. Overall, it wasn’t a bad run. Our results just don’t show how well our test last week went. We battled an extremely tight race car all day and I’m very glad that it rolled back on the trailer today. We’ll go back to the shop and work on our pavement program some more. I am confident that Tracy or I will get Chevrolet their first pavement win in the near future.
