Eldora Speedway Kicks Off Season in Greenville
ROSSBURG, OH – While Eldora Speedway’s on-track agenda begins Saturday night, April 5 with the Branson/Larson Classic for the USAC (United States Auto Club) non-winged Sprint cars, Moser UMP Modifieds and Advance Auto Parts Stock Cars, a huge Eldora presence will be felt in nearby Greenville beginning the night before.
From 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday evening (April 4) defending USAC National Sprint Car champion Levi Jones will appear at Ron Garrett Chevrolet to chat with folks about his title defense plans, and to sign autographs. The Tony Stewart Racing owned Sprint that Jones will pilot along the 2008 USAC trail will be on display as well. Local radio station WTGR will be doing a live remote from the Garrett location, and following the Garrett appearance, the action will swing across the street on Russ Avenue to Tail Gators Sports Bar and Grill for a pre-season kick off party.
On Saturday, Advance Auto Parts on Wagner Avenue will host a race car display from 11:00 – 1:00, with several of the Eldora local teams on display. Radio station WTGR will also do a remote from that location.
From there, the action moves over to Eldora for Saturday night’s (April 5) big tripleheader event, with the practice laps getting underway at 6:00 and the first green flag of the season at 7:30 PM.
