NDIANAPOLIS — The torrid battle for the 2009 USAC Mopar National Midget Championship will be decided in races at Phoenix, Ariz. and Irwindale, Calif. in November.
Three drivers separated by just 35 points will tackle the mile paved Phoenix International Raceway November 12 in the “Copper World Classic,” then venture to Toyota Speedway at Irwindale November 26 for the “Turkey Night Grand Prix” finale. Brad Kuhn of Avon, Ind. sits atop the standings, 14 ahead of Brad Sweet of Grass Valley, Calif. and 35 ahead of Darren Hagen of Riverside, Calif. Two-time series champion Jerry Coons Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. is 95 back of the leader.
