Shaffer passes Smith late for All Star’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek win Friday at Attica
ATTICA, OH – The battle for the O’Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions national and Ohio region points title could be decided during the 29th Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek. And, two-time and defending All Star champion Tim Shaffer has given notice that he is ready to make a run at both, as the Aliquippa, Pennsylvania driver passed Stevie Smith late in the 40-lap affair to claim the win at Attica Raceway Park Friday night. Blaney Takes All Star Win at Attica
ATTICA, OH – There’s just something about a long race that brings out the best in Dale Blaney. The Hartford, Ohio driver took the lead on lap 32 of the 40-lap HD Supply Spring Nationals at Attica Raceway Park Saturday and went on to his 77th career victory with the O Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions. Blaney dove under 6-time Attica track champion Byron Reed in turns one and two on lap 31 for the lead when Reed caught the cushion in turn two and flipped. On the restart, Blaney had the lapped machine of Jac Haudenschild between him and Paul McMahan, drove away for the victory, the 13th in his career at Attica. Rain Washes Out Friday’s All Stars Show at Attica Raceway
Attica, OH – Persistent rain showers has forced the cancellation of the first night of the HD Supply Spring Nationals at Attica Raceway Park for Friday, April 8. However, the first appearance of the 2011 season of the O’Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant is still on for Saturday, April 9. “It rained off and on Thursday night and most of the morning and there was no time for significant drying throughout the day.
