Best 2 out 3 for Jones and Stenhouse Jr.
Levi Jones and Ricky Stenhouse Jr will battle for the Eastern trip bragging rights tonight at Hagerstown Speedway.
Wednesday Night at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa Jones powered pat Brady Short on lap 27 to pick up his third Lucas Oil USAC National Sprint Car victory of the 2007 campaign and his second in a row. Stenhouse ran 7th.
Thursday Night found them at Big Diamod Raceway in Minersville, PA. With 2 laps to go in the 30 lap feature the yellow came out and Jones found himself racing a 2 lap dash with his teammate hot on his tailtank.
At the drop of the green, Jones went low into the first turn to keep Stenhouse from pulling a slide job but Ricky had other ideas. Staying on the top, he blasted past his teammate and collected the win.
“I knew Levi (Jones) would expect me to try a slide job there,†Stenhouse said. “But I planned to go to the top all along.
“We got it done.â€
With two of the three races on the eastern swing now complete, the TSR entries will attempt to make it a clean sweep when USAC heads to the Hagerstown, Md., Speedway tonight.
