Benefit for Tracy Hines Saturday at Mount Lawn Speedway

NEW CASTLE, Ind. — A benefit auction will be held in the Mount Lawn Speedway parking lot Saturday afternoon July 28th from 1:00 to 4:00 with all the proceeds going to Tracy Hines of Wilkinson. The auction was originally scheduled for 3:00 but because of the large number of items to be auctioned off officials had to move up the auction starting time to allow sufficient time for all the items to be sold. Hines, a New Castle native was injured severely when he was involved in a dirt bike accident on his property. Hines is a veteran of NASCAR Busch Series, the Craftsman Truck Series and the USAC open wheel Series including Sprint, Midgets and Silver Crown Cars. He ranks 11th in USAC for all time wins with 61 national event wins.In addition to t he auction Mt Lawn is donating $3 of every ticket sold to Tracy during the Saturday evening racing event. Drivers will go through the crowd during intermission to receive additional donation. On the racing schedule will be the Kevin Garner Construction 50 a fifty lap Late Model race, the Jenmarco.com UMRA Midgets, the Dependable Drywall Thunder Cars and the Collins Auto Service Hornets.
The pit gate will open at 3:00, practice and grandstand gate open at 5:00, qualifications at 6:15 with racing starting promptly at 7:30.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $6 for children 6-10 with 5 and under free.
