With 6 races to go in the chase, it looks like it’s going to be a battle between Gordon and Johnson for the title. I think Clint Bowyer will fold under the pressure of his first chase and it would take a miracle for Tony to make up 154 points the way JG and JJ are driving. Add in the fact that they both have pretty good records at the upcoming tracks and it’s time to start making plans for next year.
Speaking of next year, Tony won his titles in 2002 and 2005. If he holds to the every 3 years pattern, 2008 should be his year. Toyota winning it’s first Sprint Cup title, that ought to make Jack Rousch livid.

Let us not give up hope yet!!!
Smoke needs a couple of hiccups by the 24 and 48..not out of the realm of possibility..Bowyer is to uptight i can see him folding..
I haven’t given up hope but I’m a realist. As Robert said, he needs a couple hiccups from both of them. They might each have one but 2 each in 6 races is asking a lot.
On the other hand, he’s got nothing to lose now so if it comes down to a gamble for the win, he’ll go for it.
I went to the race on Sunday and Smoke should have won. I thought he had it in the bag. He had an awesome car. They would hang him out to dry and he would fall out of the top 5 and then boom in another lap he was contending again. I think he still has a good chance at the championship…well that is if Hendricks didnt seem to run Nascar. (As ya can tell I wasnt real pleasaed with the ending of the race)
