A Walk Down Memory Lane
INDIANAPOLIS – Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Paul McMahan is packed and ready to head north to Minnesota for a two-day World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series event at Princeton (Minn.) Speedway. With the series targeting the final eight races of the season, McMahan and the No. 20 TSR/Bass Pro Shops/Eagle team are ready for a battle that could rival a Yankees vs. Twins showdown.For McMahan, the return to Minnesota will be a walk down Memory Lane. Though it’s only been a little over a year since he has competed at the ¼-mile, high-banked speed plant, McMahan is always up for an event that coincides with his love for professional baseball. A few years ago, McMahan was able to sneak off to a Minnesota Twins game prior to the WoO Sprint Series event and the region quickly became one of his favorites.
In 68 WoO starts this season, McMahan has earned two wins, 14 top-five finishes, 37 top-10s and seven quick time awards. He enters this week’s events ranked eighth in the WoO Sprint Series championship standings with 8,815 points.
Friday and Saturday, pit gates at Princeton Speedway will open at 2 p.m. CDT. The grandstands will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m. The official track Web site is www.princetonspeedway.com.

“Anytime we’re racing in an area that has a baseball tradition, I’m all for it. I got to go to a Minnesota Twins game a few years ago prior to the PolyDome Nationals and it was really cool to have an opportunity to do so. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a diehard Yankees fan. I’ve even had a helmet painted in the past with the team’s paint scheme. I know that the fans in Minnesota and I have lot in common. We love racing and baseball. It’s also pretty cool that this week’s event is a doubleheader. We’ll look at it the same way a pro ball team would. You go in wanting to win both races but you’ve got two events to really figure the track out. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get ahead of it on both nights and have an opportunity to put Bass Pro Shops and Chevy back in victory lane.”
