DES MOINES – Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Kraig Kinser and Donny Schatz will appear at the J.D. Byrider in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, August 8, between 12 – 1 p.m., CDT. Schatz and Kinser, who are in the area competing in Sprint car racing’s premiere event, the Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals this week, will sign autographs and take photos with customers during the visit.
Both Schatz and Kinser, who are in their first season racing for TSR while this year, marks the eighth season JD Byrider has partnered with TSR’s World of Outlaws team. Schatz is a two-time WoO Sprint Series Champion and the defending Knoxville Nationals title holder. He also won the event in 2006. Kinser is also a former winner, having taking the title in

Knoxville – Defending 2 Time Knoxville Nationals Champion Donny Schatz sits in third place after Wednesday nights Knoxville Nationals Qualifying. Schatz led the time trials with a 14.897 lap. He ran 6th in his heat race, won the B Feature and finished 8th in the A Feature.

USAC Officials announced the indefinite postponement of the Indiana Midget Week event scheduled today at Union County Speedway due to extensive safety concerns. USAC Officials met at length with team representatives and drivers prior to making the decision. Series officials deemed the corrective action required could not be completed in time for the evening’s competition.
“We are postponing today’s race at Union County amid numerous safety concerns raised by both our Officials and Teams” stated Kevin Miller, CEO of USAC Racing. “We offer our sincerest apologies to our fans and our associates at Union County Speedway. I am confident in the final decision made by USAC Officials, as our first priority is to ensure the safety of our competitors and fans. “
