A Busy Friday Night for Tony Stewart Racing

Friday night was an interesting night at the computer as I watched one race, while listening to two others at the same time.  It was an interesting test of my multi-tasking abilities.

In the watching department, it was the TSR duo of Tracy Hines and Levi Jones battling in the USAC Sprint cars at Richmond International Raceway via Indy500.com.  The stands looked pretty empty at Jerry Coons beat out Tracy  Hines by 2.4 seconds with Damion Gardner taking 3rd by 1/10 of a second over Tracy Jones.

You’ll be able to watch Saturdays Silver Crown race at Indy500.com also.  The Silver Crown pre-race is at 4:45 with the 100 lap race scheduled to start at 5:15.

The New Yankee Workshop

ATLANTA (JGR) – In 18 career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, Tony Stewart has racked up two wins, seven top-threes, 10 top-fives, 11 top-10s and has led a total of 803 laps. And before Stewart became the regular pilot of Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20 Home Depot machine in 1999, he won an IRL IndyCar Series race at New Hampshire in 1998 after finishing second earlier that year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the 1.058-mile oval.

Needless to say, Stewart has found a knack for navigating New Hampshire’s tricky confines. But he hasn’t done it alone. Much of Stewart’s success has come under the watchful eye and calculating mind of crew chief Greg Zipadelli.

World of Outlaws Event at I-55 Raceway on July 5 Postponed

Pevely, MO – The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event originally scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo., has been postponed due to the recent flooding in the Midwest that has left the access road to the track impassable.

Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws officials and the staff at I-55 Raceway are working to reschedule the event after the ground begins to dry around the facility.

Richmond International Livestreaming of USAC Racing Series

Race fans can catch USAC Racing Series action from Richmond International Raceway on Friday and Saturday, June 27 & 28, at www.usacracing.com.

Click on the ‘Pit Pass’ section at www.usacracing.com under the USAC Sprint or Silver Crown Series sections to watch live video from Richmond.

Practice for the USAC Silver Crown Series will begin at 10:30 a.m. The USAC Sprint Series will take to the 3/4-mile track for its opening round of practice at 2 p.m., followed by qualifying at 5:30 p.m. USAC Silver Crown Series qualifying is set for 6:15 p.m. that evening. The 60-lap Showdown at Sundown, featuring the USAC Sprint Series, will begin at 8:50 p.m.

On Saturday, practice for the USAC Silver Crown Series will take place at 2:30 p.m. with the James River Grounds
